SharePoint permissions
SharePoint permissions determine the type of access for employees, partners, third-party vendors and others, to the content of your SharePoint site.
As the owner of a SharePoint site workspace, you can control who can see certain information and who cannot.
SharePoint permissions control the data display in lists and document libraries. Also the search results and the user interface are determined accordingly.
For example, if a user does not have access permissions for a specific document library, the user will not see any documents from that library in the results of a search.
This allows sensitive data to be protected from people who are not allowed to see or distribute it.
PortalTalk makes it easy for workspace owners to manage both the default permissions for their SharePoint site workspace and the permissions for individual team members.
