Request additional permissions within a workspace
As a team member of a workspace, you can request additional usage permissions (roles)
The workspace links displayed within the My workspace subcategory refer to workspaces of which you are a team member.
With regard to these workspaces, you have the option to request an extension of your already existing usage permissions.
Upon approval of your request by the workspace owner, the requested permissions will be assigned to you.

Find the workspace link within the PortalTalk Workspaces web part.

Click the ellipsis menu button at the workspace link and select the option Request Role.
The Request Role panel is displayed on the right side of the screen:
There are various roles that you can fulfill within a SharePoint site workspace.
The list shown below is defined in the workspace category configuration and thus may differ from the list from which you can choose.
- Owner - This role allows a team member to determine the team composition and authorizations within the workspace.
- Read – This role allows a team member to access and download data within the workspace.
- Full control – This role allows a team member to customize the site configuration.
- Edit – This role allows a team member to add information to the workspace.

Select the role you wish to request

Add a comment - If you wish, enter an explanation for your request.

Show the approver(s) - Click this button if you wish to verify who owns the workspace, i.e. to whom your request is sent

Request role -Click this button to submit your request.
Your submitted request is confirmed:

Click Close.
The workspace owners are automatically notified of your request by e-mail:
Once one of the workspace owners has handled your application, you will receive a corresponding notification (approval or rejection) by email:
The text of these automatic email messages can be set/modified by the PortalTalk application administrator.
